Because celebrity meant just as much in the 1920’s as it does today, more so perhaps, with the arrival of talking motion pictures, I like to study the movie stars and their biographies, imagining what it was like to be a working girl spending her very valued few pennies at the picture house. I turned up an interesting fact about Marlene Dietrich. Her portrait was placed on a postage stamp in 1997, by the German government, and what a portrait it is!
